Short version: this site does not collect sensitive information, and you can use all of it anonymously.
What this site collects
This website has no user accounts, no database, and no tracking of individual visitors for advertising. Assessment answers are held in your browser's session storage only so your results can be displayed, and they are cleared when you close the tab. The contact form composes a message in your own email application; nothing is transmitted to us until you press send there.
Information we ask for
The assessment asks about the type of claimant, the state involved, complexity factors, and how you would prefer to be contacted. It never asks for Social Security numbers, dates of birth, government identification, bank or account numbers, full addresses, or documents.
Information you should not send
Please do not email or enter identity documents, death certificates, financial statements, account numbers, or any other sensitive record. If assistance is ever offered to you, sensitive records are exchanged only through a secure channel established after a written engagement — never through this website or ordinary email.
Email we receive
If you email support@reclaimpath.org, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to answer you and to maintain a record of the correspondence. We do not sell, rent, or share it with data brokers or marketers.
Analytics
We use aggregate page-level analytics to understand which pages are useful. This measures page views and referral sources in aggregate; it is not used to build a profile of you or to target advertising.
Your choices
You can use every part of this site — including the state program directory and the assessment — without giving us any personal information. To have an email exchange deleted from our records, write to support@reclaimpath.org.
Changes and expansion
If ReclaimPath begins accepting assisted cases, this notice will be expanded before any personal information is collected, to cover retention periods, service providers, and state-specific rights. Material changes will be posted on this page.
Independence
ReclaimPath is not affiliated with any government agency. Official state programs may be used to search for and claim property at no cost.
