Independent service notice: ReclaimPath is not affiliated with any government agency. You may search for and claim unclaimed property directly through the relevant official state program at no cost.

How it works

A clear path, with the free official route always in view.

ReclaimPath organizes the work around a claim. It does not replace the state program, and it never guarantees an outcome.

  1. 1

    Start with the official source

Search the appropriate state's free unclaimed-property program. The state program is the authoritative place to search and to file a claim, and it costs nothing to use.

  2. 2

    Complete a short assessment

Answer six plain-language questions about your situation. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, account numbers, dates of birth, or documents.

  3. 3

    Receive next-step guidance

You receive a plain-language category — not a score and not a legal determination — with the free DIY route shown before any service option.

  4. 4

    Unlock assistance only after approval

If optional service is lawful and requested, ReclaimPath requires state-rule review, credential checks, required disclosures, PI supervision, and human compliance approval first.

Guardrails we hold ourselves to

These boundaries shape every page of this site.

The state program is the authority

Each state's official program is the source for searching records and filing a claim directly, at no cost.

ReclaimPath is optional

Our role is organization and workflow support. You may stop at any point and continue on your own.

Representation where lawful

Qualified representation is only available where permitted by law, with verified credentials, PI supervision, disclosures, and human compliance approval.

No result is guaranteed

We cannot determine entitlement, and no recovery is promised or implied.

Service status

ReclaimPath is not yet accepting assisted cases. This site does not submit claims, store submissions, or collect documents — it routes you to the free official state program and explains how assisted support will work once it is approved in your state.
